What a great hat stand! First of all, the previous reviewers are correct: it is a matte yellow and not a true antique white. But it still works color-wise because it is a very pale yellow. And yes, there are some brown paint strokes to give the piece a vintage feel, but again, it works. I am redoing our home in an English cottage style and this hat rack works perfectly in the guest bedroom. I love the way the stand is made to look like a tree from the birds and pine cones at the top to the bark-formed trunk. And it was super simple to put together. In fact, it took me longer to unpack the pieces than it took to put them together. All four legs come with a rubber pad to protect wood or tile floors although one was missing on mine (which was no problem since I keep felt for such purposes). Plus, I am so happy with the fast shipping. With the free super saver, I ordered it Wednesday and got it tonight (Friday). Not bad considering this is the busiest time of the year...
