It does have nice metal work on the top and bottom, and the dark metal is highlighted with a bronze accent paint (very light). However, the main support pole is actually three pieces that screw together, making it extremely wobbly. Now I am going to drop $20 to ship it back for a return. I have so many things hanging on it. It seems very sturdy. However, when putting it together i had some trouble. The holes and ends of parts that fit together were not clean. What I mean is that there was scrap metal still in the holes and around the edges, making it harder to put screws in and twist parts together. The metal is soft so I was able to break the extra off but it was messy. Also, when I was twisting the last parts together, it simply kept twisting as if it was stripped already. It is very tight. However, it does not seem to be affecting the sturdiness so far. In the meantime, I'd even gotten an email from Amazon stating there were problems with the seller's lack of communication with them. When I finally received the coat tree, it looked just as the picture showed and it functions fine, but it is shoddier-built than I was led to believe and no matter how much I adjust the feet, it wobbles and leans to the side. The black powder coating is also flaking off in a few places. I knew I was not getting a top-shelf item when purchasing this, but I did expect a little better. However, it's fully functional and the design matches my living room well so I will be keeping it. I keep enough items on it that they cover the worn-off paint. |
